Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions about DNS, injury prevention, or how we can help at Corrective MVMT Phillip Island? You’re in the right place.
What is DNS training?
DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation) is a globally respected rehabilitation method based on developmental movement. We use it to retrain your body’s natural strategies for posture, stability, and joint control — all without passive therapy. This proactive approach helps reduce pain, build resilience, and improve movement confidence.
How is this different from physiotherapy or chiropractic care?
Unlike physiotherapists or chiropractors, who often focus on diagnosis and passive treatments like adjustments or manual therapy, we deliver an active, movement-led approach. We don’t treat you — we coach you to retrain your body’s natural control systems for lasting change.
Who is DNS rehabilitation best suited for?
DNS training is designed for:
-
Active individuals with persistent pain or prior injuries
-
Surfers, Footballers, Soccer players, tradies, and athletes who need better control and stability
-
Anyone seeking an alternative to physiotherapy or chiropractic care
No referral or prior training is required.
Do you offer 1-on-1 or Group DNS rehabilitation sessions?
Yes. We offer both:
-
Private one-on-one DNS rehabilitation sessions tailored to your goals
-
Small group movement classes (max 7 people) with expert coaching in a supportive environment
Is DNS rehabilitation covered by Medicare or private health?
DNS rehabilitation sessions at Corrective MVMT are not claimable under Medicare or private health rebates. However, we aim to deliver more long-term value than repeated passive treatment sessions.
Do I need a referral or diagnosis to start?
Not at all. While previous assessments or reports are welcome, we focus on how you move, not just your scan results. Our process is built around practical movement assessments.
What’s the difference between DNS rehabilitation and traditional exercise like Personal Training?
General fitness training focuses on strength or cardio. DNS rehabilitation targets your neuromuscular coordination — retraining the brain and body to restore breathing, alignment, and joint stability from the inside out.
What conditions do you help with?
We support clients with:
-
Persistent or recurring low back pain
-
Joint instability (shoulders, hips, knees)
-
Postural dysfunction
-
Chronic pain and movement avoidance
-
Core control or breathing issues
